I'll post this elsewhere if it's too much of a tangent...

How is Keurig getting lambasted by the public for putting security "chips" in their coffee cup things and the printer wankers have been doing it for ages without a peep?

i agree. I have to think to myself is saving a bit of money and using generics worth the hassle. Otherwise I could just look at it as an operating cost for business. I am a business and my time is better spent printing then screwing with generic inks.

Have not looked into this before, not using HP printers anymore since Brother surpassed them so much in that area, but it looks like a good deal.

The comparable inkjet Brother had to offer had less than half the page yield as this HP and PPM was much slower. I looked at Brother before I looked at HP

This program isn't great. Depending on how much color vs black you do, the program may be significantly more expensive than buying cartridges yourself, albeit more convenient.

It seems a bit like they are trying to rush you into a deal that you'll regret later on.

I would not sign up purely because it sets of my scam alert.

Yeah, you're right and that is assuming you buy HP ink. Some 3rd party ink that has great reviews on Amazon is unbelievable in expensive. Some are cheap, but give you a non-oem notice. They also 3rd party ones that cost a bit more that have chips that cause the printer not to display any message, but are still less than half the price of oem.

What do you think of 3rd party ink for inkjet printers?

Ink just needs to die in a fire.

But that is from my perspective of printing < 5 pages per month.

This printer prints nearly as fast as a laser printer. 19PPM for black and 14.5PPM for color. Also the cartridges have a high capacity. Black does 2300 pages and color does 1500

This is what I am looking at for replacement ink

$35.99 for 2 sets of ink (2 black, 2 magenta, 2 cyan, and 2 yellow)
