Looking for a product, something like a Pi-Hole or NXFilter, that we can run ourselves that will integrate with Google Groups in Google Workspaces (G Suite). NXFilter will talk to AD. I'm not aware of any product that does this, but it would be awesome to find one that does.

Basically we want three tiers of users with different access levels and use Google Groups to determine who gets what access.

The only one I can think of would be Cisco Umbrella but I would never recommend it. Too much setup and very costly. We demo'd it maybe 2 years ago and they had a G-Suite hook in beta at that time, mostly for Chromebooks if I remember correctly.
        Here's a doc on it:

DNS is getting hijacked by the browser soon anyway with DNS over HTTPS.

what do you mean soon - I've already been notified on several machine I use that the browser is doing this now.

That said - the browser will use the system DNS if that DNS support DNS over HTTPS.... I believe MS is rolling that out soon, if they haven't already, I'm not sure who else has it currently.. I would assume most 'nixs already have this option as a DNS server.

How can the browser know what the DNs mechanism is? DO you mean the browser will try a local DNS over HTTPS first? That I can see.
