      Hello to all

Is it possible to do this "Each folder of a particular project/shared folders must be password protected"?

Note: Active Directory File Permissions Management are already implemented.
It happen that the Boss wants to do this.
In case its not applicable can we do this using 3rd party application?

What you mean add a password to a folder that is outside of AD?

Like a password on an Excel document, but on a folder?

I'm not sure that this is possible via Windows permissions.
Are your AD permissions only allowing specific staff access to the folder(s) or just the contents inside?

I already told them that our AD permission is fine. But they still want me to look for it, If we can do something 😞

I can see password protecting individual files, if they're accounting files or whatever, but adding a second password just to do so in the name of "security" is idiotic!

zip the folder and password it? this will create lots of other fun problems but it would solve your immediate one 🙂

Yes, but that means that when people are done, they have to rezip the folder and re-set the password on the zip. That won't work.

Implement a quick FTP server and have the folder location redirect to ftp:\folderlocation.location.com (internal address) This would cause a ton of other issues but they would be prompted for a username and password.

No Sir, redirection is not allowed. They need to upload the files manually -Manual connecting to FTP server.
