Can a current Chrombook use ScreenConnect to connect back to things?
I need a device for someone that will only use web browsers and ScreenConnect.
If it can do it, what is a recommendation for a model to purchase?

Used to, but I think SC discontinued the plugin.

Ah, IF you have a Chromebook that does that. New ones all should. Google is terrible about supporting older devices, though. Even just two year old laptops they've abandoned for support.

Ah, IF you have a Chromebook that does that. New ones all should. Google is terrible about supporting older devices, though. Even just two year old laptops they've abandoned for support.
yeah - I see this as an ongoing issue - Google dropping support for devices long before the device is useless.
I pay $1000 for a Chromebook damn it I want 5 years or more out of it.. but Google is lucky if they supply updates for 3 (or so it seems).

bizzarely - a lot of people. Google sold one a few years ago - not sure if they still do or not.
Full i7 16+ GB RAM, smallish SSD.
Chrome does gain by having a fast processor, perhaps not as much as Windows does, so an i7 might be a complete waste of money... I'm not sure.
But the old thought of using a $300 Chromebook - will just end in sadness of crap performance from my experience.

Definitely not true. $300 Chromebook will often run circles around a $800 Windows box. It's not a speedy device, but it has extremely little to do.

Mine is only $179 and I have no performance issues whatsoever. It's snappy. Very snappy. And that's two years old and already being abandoned by Google, and still that good. It doesn't even have an OP-1 in it.
I have a friend who just bought a new Chromebook for the same price as that and it's even nicer, of course. I can only imagine how fast a $300 one would be!

My wife's was ~300$ actually a bit less when it was on sale two years ago. It's fast and able to run basically anything on the play store.

This is the one I bought my wife a few years ago. I like it a lot. She does a lot of work on it. I'm sure there is an upgraded version of it by now.

Mine was an Asus, but it is off of the market. My friend had a Lenovo that she got at Best Buy. I don't know the model number, but I played with it for a bit and it was really nice. Regular laptop, with flip around screen and touch screen all for $179 in December.

32GB is PLENTY. I don't even need the 16GB that I have. And 8GB of RAM, that's a monster of a Chromebook. Should be way, way fast enough. Just really expensive is all.
