Asus does have a model now that looks great.
I'd order one now if it had GPS and LTE......

My guess is that given how rare the Chromebook Tablet form is, that's going to be crazy hard to find for a while.

retitle this thread "chromeos tab"` instead of "chrome tab". those are two totally separate things.

Right, and maybe tablet. Chrome the browser has tabs. ChromeOS the OS has tablet options. But the tablets are called Chromebooks, even when tablets.

I'm noticing that most tech articles suggest (between the lines) that tablets with Chrome OS are still long way from main stream. And they imply Android is still the best choice.
So I started looking for information on an Android tablet could be re-initialized with the Chrome OS at a later date. Not much on that topic out there...
I think I'll use an old I-Pad for my "I'm too old to see Waze on my smartphone" problem this weekend. And pick up the whole Chrome OS Tablet thing in another couple of months......

A slate computer to me is a full blown computer - not a toy like an iPad... now I know some people wills say an iPad isn't a toy.. but me... what I mean is runs a full typical OS, like Windows or linux, etc.
So a ChromeOS non keyboard having full PC.

Can't be very mainstream, only just seeing them available on the market. Although I'm not convinced that Android is the better choice most of the time.

Different hardware, unlikely to be happy trying to do that.
