Imation RDX Device Mode

Hey guys, been a lil while. Here's the situation, wondering if any of you have been in the same spot.
Have a client using an Imation RDX usb2.0 external dock.
So firmware must be 2.05 or later. My firmware is 2040. 2.05 seems to be a usb3 firmware, while 2040 is a usb2.
Would I brick the dock if i pushed the 2.05 firmware to it?

Not under warranty anymore?
As to the question - no clue never messed with one, but firmware often is written for specific hardware, installing it on other hardware is dangerous - buy you knew that.

the dock works fine. i'm trying to use it as a "fixed disk" which can be achieved when the firmware is updated as you can see here
