Xiami makes some nice stuff. On the cheaper side if you are looking for a less premium, good value option.

      That's what I use.

How about not taking another loan on mobile device. I don't even like taking a loan on a car let alone a phone. I'm not sure how or why people feel like they have to finance it and pay at least 2x for something that doesnt hold value for shit.

I'll be getting the new Huawei, the Mate 30 I think it is. Waiting for it to come out.

            I'd love the P30.

Which model, and how do you like it? I use their watch.

While in Paris I got to visit the Mi store!

I'd be happy with OnePlus, Samsung, etc flagships equally I'm sure.

Samsung now runs ads in their notifications screen. Hard to call anything that is ad-supported a "flagship". Samsung feels more and more like a budget phone at a premium price.

Must depend on the model. I haven't seen the first ad on my phone's notification screen.

I understand that - Im just looking to see what's out there and what everyone else uses.
Plus I'm tired of this Moto z2 Play after a year and some change.
I'm trying to see what I can afford (buy out right and then activate through my carrier)

This isn't a thing anymore. The carriers frequently give you a zero interest loan on phones today.

well crap - if they are doing it - it seems like it's only a matter of time until they all do. 😞

                                Pretty much every carrier now.

32 GB internal storage - that's way low. Sure you can put a card in, but depending on what apps you want, you could still run into issues.

Also under $200 for a smart phone - it must be slower than dog shit.

Do carriers charge interest? I've not seen that. Typically it's a discounted phone, and at worst you pay regular price divided by 24 months without interest.

That said, I always buy them outright, but my last two have been free.

I want to buy one outright and not pay on it - but pay for the service of the phone. does that make sense?
