For it to be "right" in any way, would imply that Trump doesn't believe in US law and immigration. If that's true, he also believes that his own family isn't American and doesn't belong. And by extension, no one belongs as this is a country of immigrants. There is no way to make his logic hold up.

Trump steps up attack on 'US-hating' congresswomen
US President Donald Trump has redoubled his attack on four Democratic congresswomen, accusing them of "hating our country".
"If you are not happy, if you are complaining all the time, you can leave," he told a heated news conference outside the White House.Go back where? To the state they were born in? They're US CITIZENS.
How stupid is this guy?
Ilhan Omar may be a citizen but was not born in this country. So not so stupid after all. He is technically correct.
He said it about four people, three of whom were born in the US. And he told them to go back and fix their own corrupt governments, which is himself. So not technically correct, nor smart. As incorrect and dumb as it gets. He totally burned himself and got it wrong, all in one go.
So not correct in any way, just because one single person in a group was born abroad doesn't make that "home", nor does it apply to others. Sorry, but this doesn't help make him "less wrong" in any way.
In social context, if there is one man in a group of women, most people will say, "Come on guys, lets go!" Same context here.
Doesn't mean he is totally correct but correct enough.
Not the same. Telling a group of people to "go back where they came from" is first, hate speech and as anti-American as it can get, "
I have to call BS on this one. Read the ENTIRE tweet.
He told them to go leave and FIX the issues in their country and come back with the solutions.
Right, and THEIR country is AMERICA. Period.
-
And he is the problem that they need to fix.
SO, if you think that he's telling them that they need to fix on removing him from the country he is trying to destroy, then yes, he's a bit crazy, but correct. The only country for them to "go back to" is America. There is no other option. They are American.
-
Ocasio-Cortez, Pressley and Tlaib were born in the United States. Omar came to the United States from Somalia as a child and is a naturalized citizen.
For anyone to believe someone can "go back", would require them to not believe in America and American immigration. And if "born in America" and naturalized citizens aren't Americans, who is? None of us, that's for sure. Certainly not Trump.

You may think he is a problem and we will agree to disagree on this.

Now your going out on huge flimsy limbs here and becoming illogical.

I do, but more importantly, he does. That's what his tweet said. He told people to go to American and fix it.
You can like him or support him, that's fine. But this tweet doesn't hold up. On its own, the Tweet is crazy. Whether it is a one off or standard is disputable. But there is no ground for this tweet to not be both crazy, and hate speech.

What? He told them to go back to their home and fix it. Their home is America. As non-flimsy and it gets. There is no other possible interpretation. There is no other country but America in the context. None.

Trump is not crazy. He is just doing a few things that NEED to be done and bleeding hearts don't like the reality of the world.
Trump even offered them up a great deal too. He basically said, "Show me the Money!" Go out, fix it and bring back solutions. Nothing wrong with that.
As for racism, those four need to look inwards. It is rampant.

There is a lot wrong with it. He told them to go "back to their own countries"... he said that TO AMERICANS.
There can be no defense of this. This is hate speech.
Trying to make it sound not crazy by ignoring the key portion that underpins the rest doesn't hold up. Go back "where" and fix "what" and bring "what" back? So the implication is that some foreign country needs to teach us how to be a good country, but no idea which ones or who is supposed to do what? It's crazy.

That may or may not be true, but using racism to excuse racism doesn't work either. We can't say "someone else is racist, so it is okay for us to be." Racism is wrong, regardless of if someone else is also racist. If they are being racists, then that is obviously wrong too. But no matter how racist they may be, that is neither here nor there.
One bad white person being racist would never excuse treating all white people as racist, for example.

That tweet had not hate speech at all. My goodness!

"go back where you came from" said to Americans is hate speech. There is no grey area there. It is a standard, well know hate speech phrase used to tell minorities that America is for whites only. It is one of the key examples of standard hate speech.

In what way did I bypass them? I did nothing of the sort. What are you on about? I simply said that if they did that, it would never excuse Trump or anyone else of being racist because of it.

What difference does that make? The hate speech is there, no mater what else is added afterwards. Stop ignoring the facts.

That is great and all, but still has the "go back where you came from" portion. That place being America. Adding "and then come back" changes nothing. It still includes the hate speech and implies that only white Americans belong here.

This is the exact tweet.
So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!
What country are they supposed to go back too? Three are born in the US citizens the other is naturalized.
So how is this not racist and specifically taking the color of their skin as the only deciding factor about "where they came from".
The president should go back to Loompaland, home of the Oompa Looma's because he's very clearly orange.

I can't bold that statement enough. "that is neither here nor there" is a pass off statement. I am quite alright if you want to put all parties in that statement, but to lambaste one side and not the other is wrong, wrong, wrong.
