no word on if my Boss is even planning on going on call again any time soon.
He was out due to surgery, but has been fully recovered for the last 4 months.. hasn't gotten back into the rotation yet. -
Just finishing off some webhosting stuff and then going to head down the the pub and sit in the beer garden.. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Unless directly connected to a computer and not shared in any way, printers are about the worst things ever. Even in that circumstance they're suspect.

Very true.
We had one that used to be a network printer, but now apparently is a USB printer.
No one told me this so I've been trying to figure out the IP for the printer (from what I've know it to be 1 of 2.) only to find out, It wasn't plugged into the PC. -
this conversation just happened...
B: "how do you know it's not the same printer. It doesn't say 2 different printers."
m: "cause I can read, and it does, right there a line printer and a office printer...that's why there was 2 different tickets opened. "oh shit.. oops
How's your Friday going?
-
Haha I don't know 1 IT person who likes dealing with printers...

He obviously doesn't believe you can, maybe you should read him your resignation letter as proof.

Well it went something like this:
B:" why did they open another ticket for the same printer... did no one call them?"
M: 'no I didn't, but its not the same printer."
B; "how can you be so sure, It doesnt say anything about 2 printers."
M; "Cause I can read. It says right here 'Cant connect printer to Aloha PC' and then 'Line printer needs swapped'.... "
B:"oK"So now im thinking Oh Shit. That was dumb to say.. but it's the truth..

Welcome to level 1 of developing the skill to tell folks (particularly those in power), they're fools without using the statement "you're a fool!"

Well thank you.

I've flat out called previous bosses and coworkers complete dumbasses, without holding back and still had my job. So long as you're in the right, and do it with the intent of not making the person feel like a dumbass, most people can understand why such strong wording is used.

It reflects poorly on you, not on them though. We are all at different levels of knowledge. A lot of the time I couldn't do their job (like surgeons that I interact with daily). We all have things we're good at and thing's we need to improve on. Have sympathy for other humans. Life isn't easy.
