Starting a main thread for system maintenance announcements to make it a little cleaner to find what people need.

We are doing the NodeBB 0.5.4 system update tonight. Running through less heavily used communities before doing ML itself. The underlying platform has already been backed up, the first community is already in testing post update and the OS has been fully patched as well. Should be pretty minor as updates go tonight.

Update is complete, took less than a minute. Very minor interruption. We are fully up to date again.

New version, 0.5.5 is out. Going to do the update shortly. The Ubuntu base system has already been updated. Testing the 0.5.5 update now. Be prepared for a brief outage.

And we are back! Very tiny disruption. Hopefully no one even noticed.

Righto, good to know.
I have noticed a speed improvement with the notifications. Once read, the icon disappears faster across multiple tabs. -
Might be faster simply because the process was refreshed. Will have to wait and see once it has been loaded up for a while.

It's been a busy two weeks since our last system update. We have been running on 0.5.5. Since then, 0.5.6 and 0.5.7 have released. We are planning on doing an update to the latest codebase tonight (US Eastern Time.) We don't know the exact schedule yet but likely around one or two in the morning UTC.

If you want to test anything out ahead of time, the Kidding Around Europe Travel Community is already running at the latest version.

Things are very slow, going to go ahead with the update process now. System backup has already been taken. Hopefully the blip here will be under a minute.

0.5.7 update is complete. Anyone notice the system update? In theory it is so fast that the interface absorbs the downtime but it is possible to get a gateway timeout if you do a full refresh during the update. So far things are looking good.
