MeshCentral - Anyone tried this?

In the video he mentioned "DOS or Linux terminal". But shows CMD. It's unclear if he used the term correctly and it supports Linux, or if he is oddly referring to the concept of a command line as being "Linux?"
- Stop skimming.
- Pay attention.
- How the hell would you expect a Linux terminal to be shown when the only guest computer was a windows computer in the video?
-
Ah, video appears to not be current. Linux is mentioned on one of their pages if you hunt around. No mention of macOS, though.

WTF.... It is mentioned directly in the beginning of the video.

Where did I skim? I'm digging for this info. There doesn't appear to be anywhere that they list what platforms the agents run on. Google found nothing, either.

No mention of macOS, though.
But no one cared anyway

NO, that's where the server can be installed, not where the agents can.

Um... how many people use this kind of stuff and only want to remotely view Windows and Linux? Nearly all have to deal with Mac. Way more than have to deal with Linux.

Still, no one cared though.

I don't understand this... who is this no one that you think doesn't care about macOS support?

macOS support is a pretty critical feature of ScreenConnect, for example.
-
Looking at GitHub, an OSX agent is listed in the code.

I need to look into the git status.
The original project has been around since 2009.
The new versions seems to be nice with the modern standards.
But this bit is odd. I need ot look more into the history of this project it seems.

A lot of the project looks to have come out of providing a tool around Intel AMT tech. I would not be surprised if Intel wasn't an official sponsor.

I've got my MeshCentral system up and running. Windows, Linux, and macOS agents! Woot

That the lead dev worked for Intel was obvious. That has nothing to do with sponsoship.

Install to Fedora with Cinnamon failed. It installed, but no connection. Need to research. Install to Deepin worked instantly.

I have the server running on Ubuntu 18.10.

why? why not Fedora?
I'm still completely lost how you choose which one to run on....
-
Fedora is working now.
Don't know why, installed again and it worked.

I ALWAYS use the same logic. I use whatever OS is the one recommended by the developers. They write this on Ubuntu, so I use Ubuntu. How is that confusing?
