trying to make @scottalanmiller 'proud' by solving my own Linux issues.

Setting up L2TP VPN on Ubuntu to connect to the office. One step closer to being Windowless....

Kinda surprised it's not ZeroTier, unless the point is to learn how to do L2TP in Ubuntu.

After thinking about the feedback on previous post about moving to Linux. Yeah I think to start a Linux VM in Virtual Box to play with different software and test what works.

Then when i'm happy I can swap round and have Linux as the main OS and a Windows VM in that for things that don't work.

*Will be a new year project 🙂

Why VirtualBox and not Hyper-V if Windows is your base, or KVM with Windows in the VM?

                                  You have Hyper-V? Why?

And the obvious choice is KVM, it's Windows you want in the VM, not Linux.

He's talking about a desktop setup. In his other thread he spoke of dual booting - to which I asked - why have the hassles of dual booting - instead use a VM.

Then as he mentioned above - he's thinking currently he'll have a Windows desktop with a Linux VM because he's more comfortable in Windows - then as he becomes more comfortable in Linux, he'd switch them around. So he might ultimately end up with KVM and a Windows VM, that wasn't his current desire.

I know, and Hyper-V and KVM both do that extremely well.

Right, but that's a lot of extra work. Hence my point.

I don't disagree that he should look at using Hyper-V on Windows 10 instead of VirtualBox, but really - meh...

I find I like VirtualBox more... VMs feel more responsive to me. (They're probably not, lol).
