These guys
http://hyper-v-backup.backupchain.com/windows-server-2019-iso-free-download-hyper-v-server-2019/have this link on their page
https://software-download.microsoft.com/download/pr/17763.1.180914-1434.rs5_release_SERVERHYPERCORE_OEM_X64FRE_EN-US.ISOThat clearly goes to MS's website - so it should be trustable... but still - awkward that we have to get the link from a third party.

I'd wait until it's clearly available in the evaluation center.
Yeah - I'm likely going to do just that.

It always say evaluation when you need to download Hyper-V.

Ok, I remember now, I was able to download it before Microsoft removed. I believe this is version that I downloaded.

Noob question. Does MS offer a Hardware Compatibility List for Hyper-V? How do you determine if your hardware will be compatible with each version of Hyper-V?

Hyper-V is no different then Windows Server when it comes to hardware support. For Dell servers and you want to use Hyper-V 2016, you install Windows Server 2016 drivers.

I just installed it from that other download link, yesterday. I got tired of waiting for the eval center to update. But, that version is the one without all the fixes. I don't know if it was just Server 2019 that had all the issues, or if there were issues with hyper-v too, but I figure the updates will be out by the time I put this host into production.

If you have the original 2019 .ISO file already then slipstream the latest Servicing Stack Update and Cumulative Update into the Install.WIM and recreate the .ISO file. The method we use is here.

This is the one I just downloaded as well, from the link I posted above. Looks like the update version isn't posted yet.
That said - considering what the issues were with 1809, I don't think Hyper-V itself will likely need any updates - there are no redirected profile folders to worry about, and no zip files to unzip to worry about in Hyper-V.

www.windowsservercatalog.com <-- The hardware references are all in there.

Damn, I keep forgetting that website exists.

I managed to find a third party site with a direct link to MS's site for the ISO, but still makes me nervous getting it that way.
If you get the link from us, that would be a third party link, too. What's important is that the link points to MS, not who provides the link.

Just how it is, they've always labeled it that.

I knew that - I wasn't sure what @black3dynamite intention was?
