I would honestly just run conduit to each location and have everything connect back at the main house.
It's not that much effort, and PVC is stupidly cheap.
The more I think about it, I don't need 1" the entire run, only to the first cottage and then I can leave that cottage with 3/4" to the next one and so on. The only concern then is the distance. The labor to trench is the same no matter the size of the conduit. (at these sizes)
Is the price difference here really that bad from 1" to 3/4"?

For the APs 10 and 11 I could see making this usable, but I wouldn't do it for the rest of the space.
haha, 10 will actually have a switch because I need the SFP to convert from fiber to copper.

Not a significant amount. Just run 1" the entire way. You'll have room for expansion in the future if need be.

How deep does this conduit need to be buried?

$4.21 vs $2.71. You guys are right. On a project this size the difference would be under $100. It would cost way more to have to go back and dig for another run.

That's actually more then it used to be. When I worked in a hardware store it was pennies a linear foot difference... and we weren't getting the bulk rate. But either way for under 100$ trench the 1" pipe and not worry about it.

@Mike-Davis how deep are you burying this conduit? Why not just rent the trencher yourself and get this done in a day?
-
Mike,
I think this whole this is super confused right now.Why is there copper involved? All of this should be fiber.
Are these copper and fiber runs listed already in place ? Or are they being planned?
Start this whole thing over...
-
@DustinB3403 The guy that owns the place will run all the conduit. I vacation there. I'd rather be on vacation than digging a ditch. They will probably only need me to terminate everything and configure it.

So why the F does the price of burying conduit matter? Who brought up this point?
Just run 1" throughout, since it's not costing your bottem line.

The only thing they have now is internet to the Main House (1). I thought copper would be less expensive than fiber since I would only need a $20 circuit protector on it, vs a switch with a SFP if fiber is run. Also with fiber, can't terminate it myself, so that would mean hiring that out, or ordering premade cables at the right lengths.

Right, since I vacation there, the cost goes in to rental fees going up, or the project just not getting started because they can't absorb the cost.

But you already are going to have to hire someone to terminate the 1 fiber cable for APs 10 and 11. Might as well just keep the tech around and have them terminate it all.

But copper is also going to be prone to more issues like interference.
But that is a cost versus cost versus risk that has to be assessed.
This entire thing needs stopped and taken back to basics.
- What is the goal

not if I order a premade cable....

not if I order a premade cable....
Which adds costs since these likely aren't "standard lengths"

Yeah I know. . But it certainly looks like that based on the diagram.
