So - as an employee who was making say $18/hr at that same company - to see someone who was making say $11/hr suddenly get a bump to $15 - and you get nothing - how does that make you feel?
Of course we don't know that the rising boat isn't catching everyone - but it does seem pretty unlikely.

Same as minimum wage jumps have made everyone feel at MW shops for forever. Every fast food place has done this to their staff, often even putting new hires paid above old ones!

This is not possible. Minimum wage laws apply to everyone. A new hire at $15 would be making the same as the guy hired last week for $10 who is now also making $15.

It's because they do "locked to minimum wage" rates. Example...
All new hires get "Minimum Wage + $.25".
But old people don't get raises when minimum wage goes up. So new hires are over minimum wage, but people with seniority move down to minimum wage and stay there.

I am not sorry that you stood on train tracks and got run over by a train. I can feel sympathy for the families, but not for the stupid.

You shouldn't ever have to... don't stand in train tracks. Idiot parents.

Is Tornado Alley Moving to the East?
For places like Dallas, this is huge. Ten years ago we had tornadoes constantly, it was just a normal part of life. Now being back a decade later, we forget that it is really even a concern. Used to have them regularly, like every couple months, now two years without one and we have kind of forgotten them as a major threat.
