Just installed UNMS to have a play with again.
One of the best tools, ever. I use it every day.
-
@scottalanmiller What do you manage with it?
Just Switches or all the Ubiquiti stuff it can?We only use Unifi AP and about 5 EdgeSwitches (at the moment)
-
@hobbit666 When did UNMS start managing Unifi equipment? I thought they were separated.
-
@nerdydad it doesn't we have two VM's a new UNMS for our EdgeSwitches and a Unifi Controller for AP's.
But i think UNMS can look after other Wireless stuff.
-
@hobbit666 Ahh, perfect sense then.

UNMS won't manage APs. But it does switches and firewalls. Mostly we manage firewalls, as we are a service provider it gives us insight and alerting to lots of clients and all their locations. It's great. We are slowly moving clients to UBNT switches, too, and so getting more of those in our UNMS now. But firewalls are definitely the majority.

We don't do WISP work or anything like that. We don't have any clients that we manage UBNT specialty wireless, just normal Unifi wireless currently.

What is the best OS for this? Originally, I remember seeing Debian 9. But now it looks like on their install guide, the also "support" CentOS 7 as well.

Anyone uses tuned to automatically optimize their fedora installs? I know its installed on CentOS by default.

Wondering why this movie hasn't been made yet!

Maybe they assumed you lived in Louisiana because of VeeamON a couple of years ago?

It is a docker container. But use Debian. Ubuntu is what they "test" on. But I hate Ubuntu.

Perfect. Will do. I've been meaning to try this for a couple of months now.
