I have a client who just upgraded their server and with the retiring server, wants to use it as a workstation for one of their staff. It's a Dell T320. He has a Quadro 600 card which I've validated will work in the server but can't get the dual monitors to work. And to get even one working with the video card, I need to disable VGA from bios. I've spent about 30mins on it recently and I'm not wanting to spend a ton more time trying to figure it out for him but, if someone here has done something like this and can save me some time, I'm willing to give it another go. Otherwise he's being told to stop being cheap and buy a damn workstation. He wants to run Windows 10 Pro on the workstation (T320) if we can get the video thing figured out.

      Any ideas?

That card is 7 years old. A 55 dollar gt 710 is better than that thing. Likely the new drivers for quadro on amd site dont even work with it, so Win10 is probably unsupported.

Are you trying to get the dual monitors working on the server OS? Why not try a clean install of Win 10, then install the correct drivers. That might be an easier route if 10 is the desired OS for the system.

Yes, and if you are using a Windows Server for this at the moment, have you installed the Desktop Experience.

No, trying to get dual mons working on Win 10 Pro. I could get a new card but then I have to make sure it's going to be under 65W (I think that's the max) then try to get it to work. He's got the Quadro already so trying to work with what he has. Like I said, I'm close to just letting him know he needs to suck it up and buy a workstation but thought this might be worth a try.

Ah.... if that's the case, it might not work on that card. Maybe a USB video adapter + the VGA?

As usual Dell, HP and similar have strange limitations in their machines.

PS. A lot of users find the tower servers too loud for desktop work.

PCIe bus power is 75W without need for 6 or 8 pin power from GPU.

Yes, and almost all entry level cards are WAY below that.

I don't see any Win10 drivers for that system. Good luck with that!

Right and the gt 710 is much faster than the 7 years old quadro he has, and it is supported in windows 10, and costs 50 dollars, and has 2GB RAM vs 1GB on the Quadro 600. No need to buy a new workstation just to get two monitors working. Just buy a video card for fifty dollars. If it still doesnt work then buy a new workstation.

Thanks. I'll see if he wants to bother with a newer card.

I agree, just go to Best Buy and buy the cheapest video card. I've used one and it works fine for gaming so it should work fine for any office work obviously!
