Does foreman have built in backups?

I don't think. I think you have to script a Postgres dump and whatever other Puppet pieces you need.

Yeah they have a lot of plugins. There's a big push for Ansible and it's integration is getting better. Might rival Tower at some point.

Managed to survive Field Day 2018 - barely. That's the thing about trying to push through things and stay awake for nearly 35 hours (or so). Tremendous headache and fatigue setup and it's only now clearing.

CW (Morse Code) once again rules the event (so I understand) as does phone (voice) contacts... Digital was a down right depressing disappointment.

Ah well - that is the great thing about doing event / contests like this. you find how well your gear works - or what doesn't. But damn,.. that Smoke Boston Butt BBQ was good - club member smoked about 30#,.. not sure any was left.

                          Morning everyone,
I just completeed filling out a "Self evaluation" that we all got emailed on Friday.
Wonderful way to start the week I guess, gets you thinking about where your weaker points are and allows you to address them and work on them...
Finishing my coffee and getting ready for our annual Monday Morning Meeting with Sales to map out the week.

That's better than having an "A/C unit" that doesn't really do it's job at all. . .

Also why don't you have a WatchDog (or even a raspberry pi) to monitor the temp and send your email alerts? The watchdog units work really well and are damn cheap.

$203 list price, I'm sure Amazon or whoever can get it for even less. I think @xByteSean sells it for less.

I just can't see it. A rpi will just never be as reliable as purpose made equipment. And cost wise, even if you're using someone else's code, the amount of time to configure things will be 10x longer than a Watchguard. I highly recommend setting up a rpi for environmental monitoring as a learning experience, but it's not a thing a company should be paying for.

Yeah the WatchDog units (even the low end version) has temp, humidity and something else built in. For the cost of "plug it in and use it" it's well worth the money.

$203 list price, I'm sure Amazon or whoever can get it for even less. I think @xByteSean sells it for less.

wow... wonder if something like the rPiZ would work just as good as the ITWatchdog - .. Hmm

I suppose I can see and understand that. But it also seems like such a shame.
