LVM Thin Provisioning for a KVM setup?

What advantage or disadvantage is there selecting LVM Thin Provisioning instead of LVM partition scheme?

When I select LVM Thin Provisioning and then choose to have Fedora automatically create the mounts points. Device type is set to LVM Thin Provisioning for / but device type is set to LVM for swap. Why wouldn't Fedora automatically set the device type for swap to LVM Thin Provisioning?

It's just thin provisioning, with all the benefits and pitfalls of any other type of thin provisioning. Why it would be required, I don't know.
