Sadly, Zimbra had had some great plans to replace their aging web GUI on their email product. It went into beta, it looked great, it was supposed to release, and never did. Now Zimbra has cancelled those plans and is just leaving Zimbra with the same, aged interface that has been there for a decade or more. Their blog has pretty much gone silent and there is no news of what is coming in the future any longer.

Someone asked them if the product was vapourware, and instead of responding they locked the thread and shut it down!

When people asked why the new release back in December was nothing like the release promised in June, instead of answering there, they locked that thread, too: https://forums.zimbra.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=63258

that's how I'm feeling. Looking at their forums did nothing to make me feel better. It's not time to panic yet, but this does not bode well, that's for sure.

Zimbra has gone through many changes of ownership so it is interesting to follow this. I hope for the sake of OpenSource someone can pickup on it, it would be an interest project to continue to support as it is a huge system to continue to invest on.

True. Forking it is certainly an option.

                      Then MailBear needs a webpage.
