      Hey guys,

Thought I'd finally put some distance between my career and IT, so I'm a bit rusty when it comes to troubleshooting.

We have a Yamaha soundboard that connects fine when patched directly to a computer but it won't pull down a DHCP address or even work with a valid static IP when connected to our network. We've even tried isolating it by connecting it to its own wireless router without any luck.

We haven't been able to use the feature since purchasing it almost one year ago. Suggestions on what to test next?

      Thanks!

What's the model number of the board?

Since you've had the issue for a while now, it kinda sounds like the product has a bad network adapter, which should be covered under warranty (assuming you're inside the warranty period).

Without being familiar with the model, I would first say that the boards I have used don’t like DHCP and need a static IP as well as having the router IP input into a field. Also, I’ve not seen a mixer with built in wifi, so they always need to be wired to the router or directly connected to a PC for recording/DAW functionality. If none of that applies here, I have to think about a faulty NIC in the sound board.

It's a TF5. The board doesn't seem to work with a static IP either. Cable is good and network scan isn't showing that any of our switches are dropping more than the occasional packet. Our sound guy is going to get support on the line.

            Thanks guys.

I believe that board usually connects via Wireless too, have you tried that?
