So the answer to this problem is upgrade the OS (and or ditch QB).

Thanks for the information, hopefully I won't have to use it.

Seems like it for now. I'm not sure I'm going to even bother contacting QuickBooks.

For anyone wondering this is a .net rollup fix.

Not something that should really be skipped if possible.

Does QB officially like Win 7 as supported?

I ended up chatting on the QuickBooks site. There is no way to contact support, but to call, so I called in. You have to generate a ticket with them if you want to be notified of the fix. Once the problem is fixed they will notify you. They don't even have this listed as a problem on their website yet.

Well this fix was just released 2 days ago according to the KB article.

I would still move the client towards Windows 10.

"Supported" is a very loose term with Intuit 🙂

The issue here though is that the Update is a preview not need to install that

Trust me it is easier to just move to Windows 10 or nuke it and get Quickbooks Online or another (better) app. Trust me I wish I could get my company off the Intuit high horse. It's pointless to use. I think SAM has broken down how bad their methodology for their development team for at least the last 20 years and it stinks!

Just ran into this today. Thanks for posting that; cut troubleshooting time much shorter.

Edit: Also thanks to dbeato for linking this thread. I knew I read this the other day, but couldn't remember on which forum.

Man... all at once. I just got about a dozen calls from various clients that I don't personally manage. I should have sent out an email when I saw this thread. 😐

If you're using a Venmo style delivery for drinks and/or strippers, I am willing to contribute for your helpful post to the community that directly impacted me. It has to be explicitly used on something such as strip clubs that take this type of gift card or similar. I cannot, by my own community standards, simply send money to you directly which could be spent on anything. It has to be a payment method that is only redeemable in the form of alcohol and/or strippers.
