Someone tell me how to fix YUM

Earlier today I failed at multi-tasking.

I had a long running ping going over a VPN in one window and I started a yum update in another window.

Then I meant to switch to the ping and cancel it. Except, I had the yum session active... Everyone know how this goes..

Tryign to start again, I of course get this..

So I ran the cleanup.

But I still have problems.

So I ran yum check and it showed this.

So I have no idea what to do to fix this.

I did that. Same problem. Because it wants to remove protected things like yum....

Seriously though, can you install dnf then remove and add yum again?

What I did to resolve everything was yum remove all the higher versions, and then yum reinstall all the lower versions.

That left me with just the old centos6 piece and the php-common error.
