Just did another small deployment. Minor stuff, not worth mentioning.

        Yet you mentioned. 😉

The deployment causes about a ten minute start up process during which you can sign in, but things are really slow or don't always act as expected (data doesn't fully populate or whatever) due to the load as the system compiles itself. We like to let people know in case they are watching it and see something odd, they can wait a few minutes and check again to see if it is a real problem or just a start up artifact.

Once we are in full production, we'll be doing staggered updates with people unable to access untested nodes. But for now, we just let people know.

We have new data collection to make troubleshooting networking issues easier. Now, in addition to the IPv4 address and the IPv6 addresses of a network connection, we not collect the Subnet Mask and the Default Gateway address as well. Now finding pesky misconfigurations will be that much easier.

One more useful tidbit on that screen... What DNS servers the client is using. This could be helpful. (Disclaimer: I haven't logged in yet to see the changes for myself).

Yes, that was requested but hasn't arrived yet. It should be getting added soon.

Just deployed a new update with the purpose of giving more space to the notation system (as we try to prep for external notes coming up) and thus we've taken some space away from the metadata:
                  0_1512674232678_91d61ca7-7462-4e88-b66e-75454292c3e3-image.png

Due to upcoming changings we felt that the ticket data was taking up far too much room and it needed a change. Hope that everyone enjoys!

I'm not sure if it is update related but none of my machines are checking in. Some since January 18, 22 or 26th.

The last known good check in was 1/27/2018 6:00AM

Anything prior to that would be individual machines not checking it. but for some reason, the Salt Master process hasn't picked up checkins since that time. @QuixoticJeremy has been looking into it.

Scans ran a few minutes ago. Why did they run on a non-standard time interval? Got me, no idea. But they ran. I see green now.

Rolling out changes to the agents deployment page. We are moving from downloads to command line installers. This should make installing far easier for most people. We have a new, single script for UNIX installers, including most Linux, so that you no longer need to track down a different install for each type.

That sounds refreshing to my eyes and fingers:)

It's been a bit since we posted an update large enough to mention. This morning's update is quite large. Not in new features, but SodiumSuite is quite different this morning.

Two major new changes are now in the system:

                                1. Chat has been removed. I'll post more about this later, but the decision was to take IM communications in a new direction and as such the chat feature is no longer included in the SS system and is not on the pages.
                                2. The log out problem appears to have been fixed. This one has been a long time trying to track down. The system now should be able to keep people logged in for long periods of time with data regularly updating without any interaction needed.

The changes have also brought about significant performance improvements. Pages are certainly snappier today. And without the space used for chat, there is a lot more screen real estate for tickets, assets, or whatever you are viewing. Very helpful for those on smaller displays.

                                  1. I was still signed out... maybe I need to nuke the browser cache completely...

Ok, after I sign in and go to anything but dashboard, I can't get back to the dashboard from the shortcuts on the left side. I can click any of the other ones, but the dashboard link just flashes the "dashboard" text popup over and over, clicking does nothing.

                                    Opera 51.0.2830.34, on windows 8.1.

@nerdydad once you dump all those stupid tiles, it works fine. Still better than win 10, especially on the vintage Dell workstation I have.

I actually like Win10, except for they are forcing me to move off of the old Control Panel and to their new Settings Pane. I know that sounds stupid, but that is just my opinion.
