Remote Control Software

Charge them for a ScreenConnect instance and have them install the agent on all the PCs. That seems like the best option for remote support.
-
@bigbear there are, but they are flaky and aren't robust enough for business use.
Screen connect is likely the best option for the cost
-
ScreenConnect is good, but wow their pricing is crazy now especially if you want to purchase the software out right.
Remote utilities have a lifetime licence for unlimited computers for $499, might be something more you're looking for?

Have you used Remote Utilities before? Looks interesting.

Screen Connect Self Host licence is now: $2,195, but does include use for 3 Technicians.
-
@coliver It does work well, I personally use Screen Connect though before it got brought out by ConnectWise

really - I don't consider this a bad price - It's hosted by them at this price, right? One time fee, then yearly maintenance, like $100/yr. really not bad, wellll... depending on how many devices.
If it's 10 devices, yeah.. that's a lot!

I ended up using my Smart Office UC meeting tool. Really glad I dont have anything to install on premise at this customer. Yikes.
Apparently the IT guy drives between offices in different states. He literally just told me "The bosses dont much like new purchases and I dont mind the mileage and travel time".
So whenever there is problem he can't solve over the phone I guess he takes off, sometimes stays overnight. He wasn't too thrilled to find the meeting tool is going to be on everyone's desk. I am really glad he wasn't a part of the sales process.

So he's a bench tech as Scott would say?

I have used https://www.dwservice.net in the past. If you are in need of free remote control software. It works very well.

It is $2,195 for 3 technicians with up to 10 simultaneous connections (each I believe).
It is quite a respectable price point.
The original pricing was $325 per simultaneous connection, with discounts as you buy more. I currently have a 6 simultaneous connection license under the old pricing and that equates to 6 x $275 = $1,650.
Yearly renewal (for continued updates) is discounted 80% so I pay $330 per year because I like the updates, as they keep improving the software.

No it is not hosted by them. That is the self hosted purchase price.

The hosted pricing is here: https://www.screenconnect.com/Pricing
It is $45 per month (paid annually) per tech for the hosted version to match the self hosted.
-
Actually, it is $135 (3 x $45) per month for the hosted version to match the self hosted.
Because the self hosted is for 3 technicians.

wow
I drive between states on a daily basis. It is only 20 miles for me.

Don't forget about the Screen Connect remote access packages if you don't need the other support options. Install agents on all machines and have unlimited access to them.
-
@Sodium will do remote access eventually, but that is a major undertaking and not something that is "right around the corner", sadly. We really want it, too.

Yeah, that's great.
