Vonage phones needs shop ringer

Small business client has Vonage phones and wants to have ringers in the shop. I believe I need IP based ringers.
Anyone dealt with Vonage phones or IP ringers?

No idea with Vonage as I have not used them since the first couple months they existed. I would doubt that there is open SIP standards available.
For a standard SIP based PBX, you could easily setup a SIP based ringer (use google I do not have a brand to recommend) and stick it in a ring group with whatever number is ringing in.

@JaredBusch Thanks, I did search Google first which I found the term IP based ringers and there are tons of crappy websites selling named products unknown to me!
I am also going to contact Vonage since the mostly likely have a closed SIP and find out what their clients use.

I used Vonage for years. Last that I used them, they were using ATAs. So you just hook up an old fashioned analogue ringer and you are all set.

Correct. Vonage isn't what people mean when they say VoIP. Because there is VoIP under the hood, but the client sees legacy POTS. So calling it VoIP isn't exactly true. It's kind of true, but in a "no one means it like that" way.

I remember someone telling me that before a long time ago. First business customer with Vonage phones. Next time I go back, I will see what brand the phones are and find about their plan. Office manager was told the analogue ringer would not work.

Maybe they have updated how their system works since I had it. I left about two years ago to hop onto the corporate PBX which is way nicer.

Originally the Vonage device simply spitsout POTS it is nothing but a big ATA. If they have changed then I would not know. I literally only used them for a few months in like 2002 or so.

That's how it was until recently at least. I was on them like a decade. Was always that way. Really silly.

Found out that client has Polycom vvx 300 phones.

Vonage business bought out Vocalocity, a buisness Voice Over IP company providing hosted PBX in 2013.
Vonage has how to info to connect SIP enabled IP speaker from CyberData.

Do you need it to ring a bell or to page folks?
The speaker you list will do the trick, but FreePBX can do it with current equipment. It's all about boosting the ring/tip voltage

Thanks @PSX_Defector...that is a little cheaper but since they are buying a new business class PC and looking for a new AIO printer, they're looking for something less expensive. They might just add a phone to the shop.
