We use NextCloud, then only back that up, not the remote user devices.

Are you running your instance of NextCloud in a VPS with extra block storage for your files, or using their enterprise plan?

      We run out own.

Forgive me for seeming thick, but you mean on your own hardware in your office or at a data center?

We never run on premises for production.

              No, we use cloud computing.

Somehow I'm confused, so you are running your NextCloud in a cloud server instance like Vultr?

Ah, then I misunderstood your answer. You were saying "no" to using their enterprise plans and "yes" to using a (or possibly another) Vultr instance to run your own server.

So using next cloud as a sync service i believe? More like Dropbox or one drive? If that's the case do you keep version history and give that back if a user request for restore?

We have similar requirements and was looking at backblaze too

Crashplan is by far my favorite solution. It is more expensive than others (like Backblaze), but the ease of use and ability to set it and forget it have been wonderful.

That's really its only purpose. Could you use it in some other way, sure. But it exists only to be a sync service.

                            They manage that themselves.

We have office 365 with one drive and I am currently evaluating this to be used for users desktop and my documents backup/sync. Users can't see any other locations, so configuring those directories to be mapped to one drive would give them 1TB storage and j can enable longer retention on one drive admin.

I'm assuming you're using the native sync clients? Are you using both Windows and Linux clients or just Linux? I've tried the Windows one on a couple laptops and found that the synching was really clunky and not working well. Have you run into any issues?

                                    Of course.

I'm assuming you're using the native sync clients? Are you using both Windows and Linux clients or just Linux? I've tried the Windows one on a couple laptops and found that the synching was really clunky and not working well. Have you run into any issues?

Both. All Linux internal, it's rock solid. Some Windows for external users, and they do have some issues. But... that's expected, it's Windows.
