Snipe-IT - How Are You Printing Tags?
-
I recently started using Snipe-IT (hosted version) and am wondering how people are printing their asset tags.
Are you out-sourcing printing or do you print them yourselves. I would imagine if you outsource, you wouldn't be able to add device-specific info. Does that even matter if the QR code links to the asset in your management system?
-
A rule for tagging things is that you don't want device info on the tags. That's bad for data integrity.
-
Is anyone recommending tag printing services or printers? What kind of tag would you use?

two-digit year dash 4 digit number.

@tim_g Thanks but I mean, physically printing the tags that you attach to devices, not the syntax.

Just use good old Avery labels.

Oh, we print them on a metallic label... has the company logo and then the syntax I mentioned.

Zebra is pretty popular for label printing.

Yeah im pretty sure that's it. We use Dymos too and I know it's not those so it has to be Zebra.

We outsourced and just asked for branded label with company logo then a WYNXXXXXX sequenced number ordered 1000 in first batch.

I'm using a basic label printer and just printing off the asset tag. We also don't need anything special either. . . so.
