Las Vegas Shooting - Lone Shooter - 50 Killed 200+ injured

Last night at a Las Vegas show there was a mass shooting by a lone shooter, 50 people have been killed with 200+ others injured.
The death toll is expected to rise as many people are in critical condition.

The gunman has been killed by police and was shooting from the 32nd floor of a nearby hotel. Due to the gunfire and smoke that was a product of the gunfire police were able to quickly investigate the location.
Resulting in a gun battle with the shooter, resulting in the shooters death.
Correction: Updated information indicates the shooter as having taken his own life before police showed up.

Listening about it on the radio now, they're claiming over 400 injured. Also that the shooter killed himself before police got to him. Not sure how much of this has actually been verified.

BBC had reported wrong numbers and quietly fixed them last night. Hard to tell.

Because all journalists lie. Even when they are semi-trying to be truthful, they don't check facts and just report whatever they have.

I heard about this on the radio and the woman obviously knows nothing about guns or gun law. She was saying how wrong is it for any normal person to have a submachine gun and we should just ban guns altogether. Well whichever side of the gun laws you stand on she obviously doesn't know you can't just go down to walmart and buy something like this. From what I heard it was a military rifle of some sort but I don't know if that was verified or someone again just guessing on the radio. So who knows.
The point is that he most likely obtained gun illegally anyway if it really was that sort of rifle.
It just seems that she shouldn't give her opinion unless she knows something about it. That's how so many misconceptions start!

He very clearly had a fully automatic rifle from the video and gun fire that could be heard. This doesn't mean that he didn't purchase a semi-automatic rifle and change the components inside to make it such.
In any case I hope those that were shoot survive, as for this guy, he's dead. Not sure what else there is to do at this point.
They've started questioning his wife, and have a search warrant for his residence.
Which something I heard on the news is he was living at a retirement community. I'm surprised they didn't have some kind of policy against weapons of this nature.

Yh sucks balls, but in all honestly I am somewhat relieved it is not inspired by religion... my religion.
Not trying to be an asshole, but its just the way of the world... if you ask me they should allow fire arms but just pistols for residents, like old revolvers or some new tech that will allow gun shots to be traced or located when fired.
Who cares if you are legal gun owner and have firearm, and if you shoot it in an urgent scenario like thief, you want the cops to know about it and arrive. So its cool if they made something like this, limited ammo and GPS and notification when fired.

It's horrific what happened, but I can't stand the media.
Ah, it was a "gunman", not a "terrorist". Funny how the media defines things. The article clearly states it's not an "overseas terrorist".
So I guess if you are an American citizen, not from overseas, then you can't be a terrorist, no matter what you do.
But if you are from overseas, and have a specific religion, then you are a terrorist... no matter what you do.

We were just at breakfast with a guy whose daughter texted to say that four of her freiends had died at the concert.

No one said not a terrorist, not a foreign terrorist is all that I am hearing. No links to outside or foriegn groups. Still creating terror, just domestic.

That's my point.
The media only labels someone a terrorist if they are of foreign nationality and of a specific religion. That's where my issue lies.
