Sodium release for helpdesk: related tickets, attachments, changed time management, etc.

Will there be a chance to have the option to rename computers? I have about 10 right now that I need to update the computer name from the Win10 Default UID....
-
I can see it's defiantly far away from production, but it looks like it has lots of potential and your asking the community for features and ideas, which is great!.
Just a few questions:
Notes:
- once you have reset password it doesn't take you back to login screen after.
- agent installed fine on Centos 7 although, most information not populated yet
Questions:
- how are password's stored / are they securely hashed and salted?
- We there be an email to add ticket option for users?
- will closed tickets be removed from main view. (different group view of main list?)
- delete ticket completely option?
- what is the main development path, focus?
- will this only be hosted, and if so what are the future plans of monitization?
- option to remove account and all related ticket data, machine data?
- will there be a timed or configurable auto logout?
Just some things that I could think of at this stage?
-

I spoke with @QuixoticJeremy about this and getting the Nickname feature is slated for release later today. That's the real issue that you are seeing, you are seeing the ID field and wanting to rename your ID, which would be very problematic. But the field for naming the computers yourself is not there yet, so that is coming later today. Then you can name them anything that you want for your own viewing purposes.

- delete ticket completely option?
Not right now. Having tickets totally vanish can cause issues that have to be very carefully considered. Especially if other data depends on them.

There should be an obvious note somewhere about that, but where I wonder.
There are two cycles, one to "add" the new machine that happens every 90 seconds. This is the one that shows you that your machine is in the list. The bigger one runs every five minutes and grabs all of the data from the machines. This is the one that you are waiting on. Keep the screen up and you should see your data populate any minute now.

Notes:
- Initial draw is not a full data grab, you will likely hit that in the next data grab job (we did see a bug in this over the past week though so I'll keep an eye on that)
Questions:
- Yes passwords are indeed hashed and salted. I won't go into depths in terms of encryption/hashing types etc because of obvious reasons. But yes this has been done.
- Yes closed tickets will be removed from main view (upon release of filtering so that users can access them again when desired, this will be coming out soon)
-Not sure if you would want a delete ticket completely option for historical tracking purposes. Something I'll discuss with superiors. If we do decide to do it it will be configurable but not a default likely.
-There are many threads/posts out there about plans for monetization/@QuixoticJustin tends to be better in regards to discussing this.
-Accounts are removable, machine removable option was created but due to error on my part did not get moved up to the latest version of the dashboard. I will be reintroducing that shortly. - Yes there ill be a timed/configurable auto logout and this was occurring previously but one of my recent releases threw that off so I have to fix this. Known bug.

Oh - Nicknames are fine . but I was meaning that the hostname is Desktop-12345 and it needs to be changed to Dept-001-2017003a (Less than 15 characters).

Right now Sodium is just monitoring and helpdesk, there is no system management functionality - yet. If you need to change the hostname then you currently still need to log in to the system in question and actually change the hostname. Then Sodium will reflect the name change through the monitoring system.

Look at what I quoted, you said "hostname" specifically.

Yes, I absolutely need to 100% be able to delete (true delete) anything I want. It is my data. Nothing should rely on it to the point it cannot be delete. It would just mean that a link no longer can be built.

Good point, I was looking at this from the wrong point of view here. I was looking from an administrative point of view not a ownership point of view. I'll add this to the list.

@quixoticjeremy
Speaking oc closed tickets - You have to edit the ticket to change the state to closed/resolved/etc.Any chance to get a close button?

Closing should be a note action, like everything else. All actions, one place.
