You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message
-
I am troubleshooting a new PC. I am trying to login as a user and I am receiving the error message described in this technet article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215/en-us
That article seems to suggest that its a corrupt profile. Well, this PC has no profiles other than my admin account. I tried making the user a temporary local admin just to see if it would let the profile build for the first time. I tried following the instructions in the article but there is literally no profiles to delete.

I tried a different user account and I am still getting the same error message. Domain admin accounts seem to work fine, though.

So some domain accounts work but others don't?

About an hour ago, I unjoined it from the domain with intention to rejoin it. Unfortunately I have been putting out other fires and haven't had a chance to rejoin and test yet.

Ok, rejoin it and let us know, when you can.

Bad Domain machine accounts, I'm hearing more and more about those lately.
