    Windows 10 Network Connection Issues

      I have a Lenovo T460s with Windows 10 Pro Installed.

      We have a handful of this model, all using the same image, but I am only having issue with this one computer\user.

      The last time we just replaced the computer, but the issue is back.

      Computer will not connect to the network, wired or wireless.

      Things I have tried:

      • Known Working Network Drop
      • Using Wi-Fi
      • Resetting Networking Stack
      • Another User Account
      • Disabling IPv6

        The computer\user part is confusing. If you log in as another user do you have the same issue or is it any account that logs into this particular PC?

          @wirestyle22 All accounts have the same problem.

          I said same user, because it's only a issue with this one user, makes me wonder what they are doing.....

            I have a similar situation here I have yet to figure out.

                Are they getting their connection via passthrough?

                  No, but we are using a proxy. I can't even access the local gateway...

                    No, but we are using a proxy. I can't even access the local gateway...

                    Is the IP address being assigned correctly? May want to try a static you know is not in use just for testing purposes. I would also change the port it's plugged into on the switch to test that.

                    Does the event log say anything?

                      It seems more of a networking issue than a Computer issue. If you move to different known working network ports, wifi or not,.. and the issue remains, it does seem to suggest such.

                      What about externally - If it doesn't work IN the office does it work OUT of the office?

                        Same user? Different hardware?
                        They did something.
                        Reimage the machine.

                          Does the user in question have connection issues on other machines too?

                            When you reset networking stack, did you do all three?

                            Reset WINSOCK:
                            netsh winsock reset catalog

                            Reset IPv4 TCP/IP:
                            netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

                            Reset IPv6 TCP/IP:
                            netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

                              I have this problem at home with my ASUS baord and I have had it at work with two laptops.
                              The common factor in all my cases (other than Windows 10... mine is Pro, theirs is home) is an Atheros NIC. The Laptops were WiFi but Atheros none the less.

                              In my case resetting the TCP/IP stack helps for a while.

                              netsh int ip reset
                              

                              Not super helpful for you Aaron but just my experience so far.

                                On my home PC, I've just changed the driver from the Microsoft one to the Atheros one.
                                Hopefully, this will have a positive impact.
