Looking at Ideas for a Grassless Backyard

We would, actually, like to set something out there up with a projector so that we can do outdoor movies at night.

We could do meetings out there too when its nice outside.

Yup, I hadn't even thought of doing the Mango Meetups out there. That's a great idea. Although it will be quite some time before we have enough done to make that viable. It needs a LOT of work.

We could get a keg and invite everyone over for a crazy day of backyard renovations, lol.

If you bring beer, they will come.

Those are the best kind of party.

If there was a fare sale and I had the time, I'd fly down for one, especially if I had a place to sleep. Hotels can be expensive, even when you have a corporate discount.

Yep, I'm not much for design but I can do some heavy lifting. I even have some relatives in the area I could probably crash with.

I like this.

Yeah that is a really neat and good use of space that otherwise would be wasted.
-
Building that would be super simple too.

I'm thinking herb garden.
-
@NerdyDad me too. We love fresh herbs. Sage, lavender, rosemary. Rosemary grows great here. I'd love having some big rosemary bushes like we had in Italy.

I think rosemary also repels mosquitoes so yes, definitely worth it. Definitely recommend on getting a programmable watering controller. Something like https://www.orbitonline.com/products/sprinkler-systems/timers/timers/outdoor-wifi-timer/b-hyve-6-station-smart-wifi-sprinkler-timer-v2-2543

Basil and catnip, too.

Catnip is a controlled substance. Make sure you encase it with 16 gauge or sturdier caging. If you don't, all the cats in your neighborhood will be your best friend.

If you have flat areas, sure... But that design leads to quite a bit of landscaping needed on a weekly/monthly basis.

Interesting setup. It's pretty but I find it odd to have grass on your table while you are eating. I feel like this would increase the odds of bugs in your food.

That's exactly what I thought my wife would say if she saw that. That is her biggest complaint about eating outside. It was beautiful last weekend in St. Louis. Virtually no humidity (rare for the summer), relatively cool temps (low 90s as a high), and we just got a nice umbrella for our deck but could we eat outside and use...nooooo....might get bugs in our food. Which then had me asking why did we spend the money on the umbrella.
