Install NextCloud 11 on Fedora 25 with SaltStack

@scottalanmiller I copied and pasted it from the post. But then added the 22/tcp manually and saved the file and when I applied the salt file a second time the ssh worked immediately afterward.
Right, was just wondering if the copy/paste changed somewhere. On mine, for example, I have an automated GIT pull so if I change it in the wrong place, it will get changed back a few minutes later

I think I am going to blow away the nextcloud VM and start from scratch. ~~I also have some weird issues when attempting to update to version 11.0.3 via the web interface -
I get the following -
Check for expected files
The following extra files have been found:install_complete
I think I can delete it if I knew where to find it. I tried a basic find command on the backend and didn't come up with it.~~
EDIT - Found the file after reviewing the sls file contents and was able to remove it and update.
Also, when trying to configure LDAP/AD integration I get errors saying that it can't detect anything and tells me to enter it all in manually. Then when I hit continue, it says Lost connection to LDAP server. I even tried disabling firewalld on the nextcloud server just in case there was something funky going on. I have successfully setup integration for OpenVPN AS and other services, so I don't know why this one is giving me so much grief.
-
@wrx7m I got the same error when I tried to do the update from the web interface. I did not try deleting the install_complete folder for fear of breaking the install. I also am not able to create new subfolders inside a main folder.

I realized that it was mentioned the salt state file and was able to remove it from /var/www/html/nextcloud and perform the update. When it got to the end it said to exit maintenance mode if you were not using the command line. I selected that and now when I go to the site, it tells me -
-
@wrx7m I saw it in the state file as well but was not sure about deleting it.

I rebooted my nextcloud server for fun and i am still showing that update needed message.

Oh yes. I need to fix that. I'll fix it tomorrow.

Yes. You can't remove that. I'll fix it.
-
@scottalanmiller Thanks. I did remove the empty install_completed file and the update went through the process until it asked if I wanted to leave maintenance mode and it indicated I should because I was using the web interface. That is when i got the update needed message i screenshot above.

@FATeknollogee Yes. I created a dedicated CentOS 7 VM for the master and created a VM with Fedora 25 for the nextcloud minion.
Any specific reason for using 1x CentOS and 1x Fedora 25 vm?
-
@FATeknollogee I am more comfortable with CentOS and am using the minimal install version. It is lightweight and a small footprint "out of the box". The iso is under 700MB and the Fedora 25 iso is 1.9GB. I would have gone with CentOS 7 for nextcloud but it doesn't have PHP 7.x

You downloaded the wrong Fedora ISO.
You can get PHP 7 on CentOS 7 easily if you choose to trust Remi.
@scottalanmiller disagrees with that method because it breaks the support chain. Which is the only reason to use CentOS 7 in his opinion.

One is for Salt and the other is for NextCloud. Fedora is fully updated for NextCloud. CentOS is great for stable Salt Master.

Do you gain or lose anything if both vm's were Fedora 25?

Perfectly fine. No need for CentOS for Salt Master.

Which Fedora 25 Server ISO should I have downloaded?
-
This is the link to the one I downloaded - https://getfedora.org/en/server/download/
The only other one I could find is the netinstall version, which will just download everything else when you do the install.

NetInstall

@JaredBusch Does NetInstall allow you to pick and choose packages during the setup?
