Windows Vista Has Reached End of Life
-
Windows 10 has a fresh new release right as Windows Vista's final public patches roll out. It is the end of an era, the first of the Windows NT 6 family to be retired. Vista was not very popular in the trades, but was, in reality, a very important operating system in Microsoft's history.

Yeah. So many people forget about the changes to the kernel and driver stack that happened in Vista. All they remember are the annoyance boxes.

It was big stuff and super important. And the bugs got ironed out. It was a very stable product.

I have a client that bought new machines with Vista Business right before Windows 7 came out. Still a couple left on low use desks that we have not managed to replace yet.

Wow. I've not seen any in the wild for a bit now. Couple years, I'd guess.

I think @JaredBusch already has plans to put it out of it's misery.

2 more GB of RAM and an SSD that thing would run Win7/8/10 no problem.
