Quickbooks has a solution for this, why wouldn't this work?

Not UPC, not sure how those work. NTG used to do a lot of barcode work and some barcode types can keyboard shim (makes you act like you typed something in), in which case the fact that it is QuickBooks, a web page or a Word document would not matter.

The client told me and I forgot already. I'll have to go back and get some more information.

            Found it in an email:
"Enterprise will help do order fulfillment pretty well let you scan to make sure you are pulling/packing the correct product, but there is not any way to use it to guide production."

Edited the title since this is more a ERP question.

Sounds like they need to put their big boy pants on and upgrade to a real ERP.

Is there a real ERP that integrates with QuickBooks?

We use a product called Fishbowl Inventory that integrates into QB, we are looking at moving away from it and QB to an actual ERP system, but right now it is getting the job done.

By definition, I'm going to guess no 🙂

In most cases, an ERP would cover the same territory as QB. If you had a real ERP, QB would be redundant.

Fishbowl looks like the right fit for their size. At least I can have them talk to their sales guys and do a demo. Most of the time they are running with less than 8 employees, so this is not a very large organization.

Oh, I'm confused. Are you looking for a UPC scanner AND an integrating ERP now? I thought that they had an ERP and needed something that did UPC for both.

Well when they came to me at first they were talking about the UPC side. As it turns out what they really need is an ERP system. I didn't know enough about either to ask enough questions.

Okay, now I understand. Have you mentioned to them that generally an ERP system would do what QB does, so they would kind of have two of the same thing at that point?
