      damn, hardly knew Texas could get that cold (i'm joking of course, I know that some parts get full on winter.)

                                    More insulation in attic or replace it since it is probably over 30 years old. They can spray in the walls too, just makes a small hole and they blow it in. Keep it cooler in the Summer and warmer in the winter. Probably cheaper than a new AC/Furnace.

                                          my house is 11 years old.. I probably need to do the same.
