                        Morning @Minion-Queen and others.

Yeah the drifts in my driveway were from 2 feet deep to less than a half-inch. So while there is a lot of snow, measuring it is difficult.

I woke up at 5am this morning expecting to need an hour or longer to clean out the driveway and was done under 30...

So early bird gets the worm I guess...?

'Good' Morning all - And 'Happy'Monday...

Well we are past the weekend,... and a new week begins. Parental duties are 'split' for the next few as the other two need to be shoo'ed off on the bus at 7am. I am sill here at the hospital,..having left for just a few hours on Saturday to retrieve the Surface from @Minion-Queen and attend to a few other things.

Progress has been 'decent' though he is getting more rest than I am at this point. We were up about once an hour since 10pm last night. I'm so glad that he is able to rest.

They cut back on his fluids, removed the EEG lines, and the blood pressure cuff is only as needed now. He is other wise doing pretty well for being a six year old doing this.

time to see how the day goes... yawn

My friend's house (you know, the one a tree fell on) one room completely destroyed and the roof is pretty much a total loss. Surprisingly, the whole house isn't considered a loss.
They are telling him that the house won't be fixed until April/May next year.

The other bad news he got, the tree that lost the limb, it has to come down. It's a 100 ft tall Maple or Oak (not sure which). He's been quoted $15K and insurance isn't covering it.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I've seen trees cut down to stumps, and they grow back. Lost massive limbs from the top, to the point of "just cut it down".

Which is a massive shock, but you can literally just trim the tree down, leaving the smaller limbs if any and it will grow back.

I'm not sure if it's mostly dead or not, but the tree guys are saying it's rotting from the inside out, and is now an insurance liability. Their insurance company has told them that they will not cover any more claims based on damage from this tree because the tree is in a known bad state. It needs to come down, even if only to grow again later.
