yeah, I don't BUT we have lots of Wii games and we want to use it as a Netflix / Hulu / Amazon player mostly and for the kids to play their Wii and Wii U games with HDMI rather than component hookups.

I blew all my moolah on fancy PC parts and gear, no more consoles for me. And speaking of HDMI... When are they going to include DisplayPort in consoles and TV's?

@scottalanmiller I guess for consoles, HDMI hasn't even been pushed to it's cap yet. 4K console gaming is still a long way off.

TV market evolves very slowly.

Well, 4K TV's recently got much cheaper. But they generally only sport HDMI, which is only capable of delivering 4K resolutions at 30hz, which is okay for movies, as the general public dislikes film content shot at 60hz, but is inadequate for gaming. DisplayPort can theoretically support 4K resolutions at 120hz, which is non-existent technology.

That it sucks? Yeah, mostly. The kids like it and it was cheap. We use it for Netflix, Amazon and Hulu quite a lot. Not a great unit, but was better than the old Wii.
