It looks like they will be selling an inline mini cable for use with headphones when needed.
I rarely use the headphone jack, so the fact that it uses it is fine by me!

I use it constantly as I listen to two or more hours of books per day in the car.

For a few hours a day in the car, that is less than ideal. I use BT to the stereo in my bedroom for home listening, though.

yes at home I use the Bluetooth speakers but in the car I do my Plantronics Voyager UC.
