So with MangoCon fast approaching I figured now is as good a time as any to ask those that are leading classes to let us know what we will need loaded on our laptops.

      • So what software will be shown to us?
      • What should we pre-load so the course isn't held up?
      • What environments should we be using (Linux - what distros are being used) / Windows?
      • Any recommended configurations needed for the courses?

The most complex thing I'll be doing is demoing how KDE works with massively different distributions. Standard desktops are really quite nice for the IT guy.

For LVM, just a bunch of block devices (pretend ones are fine.) Preferably small, so we don't have to wait for things to complete.

And a CentOS bash shell for my BASH and Server bits.

I think they will have the NTG lab available for everyone to use so you don't have to create anything yourself.

@travisdh1 So our preferred linux distro on a laptop should be enough.

          Thanks @travisdh1
