@Digium if you don't send all those scantily clad ladies to Mangocon, you will be booted from this community! (Ok, maybe not booted, but please send the showgirls to Rochester...)
And Elvis too! That's awesome.

@scottalanmiller Attendees are free to wear whatever inspires them! AstriCon does a different theme every year, and it usually coincides with the location of the conference. Here's our VP of Marketing, Leslie Conway, with Digium CEO, Danny Windham, at the 2014 AstriCon in Las Vegas.
Yeah, so just keep Elvis, the old guy, and Kathie Lee, and send the other 2 to Mangocon, care of... wait, what's my room number?

@coliver Well, to be precise, these were performers at AstriCon, not simply booth girls. They also welcomed all AstriCon attendees as they entered the conference

And at the NAMM show in LA, Dean guitars used to employ a posse of topless showgirls to greet attendees, etc. They were rarely at the Dean booth, but they always had scads of people following them around... #justsayin

@RojoLoco Well.. Rock and Roll, baby. Our performers, however, have tops- fully intact.

I'm not being prudish or anything, just never been a big fan of this type of marketing. Each their own.

Eye candy serves a purpose. Make people look at your booth.
Once the eyes are on your booth, your content has to retain the eyes.

@JaredBusch Just to be clear, these performers are there to greet attendees, perform, and then they leave. They are not used to attract anyone to a booth. They are there to entertain our guests- both men and women. We do understand not everyone loves a hula dance or cancan, and that's fine. Plenty of other fun things to see and do at AstriCon!

I understand how you are using these people. I was mostly answering @coliver's complaint about booth babes in general. not implying anything from your conference.

It's standard in every industry. It is what it is, the best way to get customers' initial attention. It's very, very hard to draw someones attention to a booth with your... code.

Well that seems like an oversight
I kid, I kid.

No offence but those outfits remind me of booth babes at gaming/comic cons.
But they don't remind you of the attendees at those shows? I have a friend who attends, and she wears way less than these people.
