      Is there any other way to print directly to the printer without any type of add-in software or going to ms Paint or Word?

      Suggestions of GreenShot or other application are known to work, but the person swears that another person was able to do so. .... However, this person and I agree that it's highly unlikely that this is the case. PrtScrn has been sent to the clipboard for some time now....

      ETA:

      This is for the Print Screen key on the keyboard. Sorry,.. was typing pretty quick and missed that rather KEY point!

        Yes, just add the printer directly to the OS. Networked printers see any computer the same as a print server. I'd say that outside of the enterprise, direct printing is the majority of printing. Using print servers is decently uncommon in the SMB.

            I'd lean towards application trapping the print screen key the way green shot does. I think you're right.

              Yes - our 'best guess' is that there is some third party software needed. And since this is a state agency - they have limitations as to what can be used or installed.
