I just wish the salt water in the NW wasnt so damn cold all the time. Puget Sound doesnt even make it to 60 degrees F, ever. The Pacific Ocean is just as cold or colder all year too.
I do the polar bear plunge every thanksgiving at the head of Lake Washington. I'm usually super hung over and jump in wearing my boxers to swim around for a little while. Wakes you up better than coffee. Though I stay close to the dock because, you know, hypothermia.

Yeah, the ocean water around there is bad enough, but all the lakes are fed directly from the mountain glaciers.

That's why I swim close to the dock in case I start losing feeling. Haven't had any issues yet though, I constantly monitor myself while I swim. My longest was just under 20 minutes with only boxers. Felt great except my skin was pretty stiff for a couple hours and my male area was... well you know.

I grew up swimming in the sea and only in the last few years have I been drawn to fresh for fly fishing. Lakes are colder than I could have ever possibly imagined!

We need to discuss that. Could you please post an up to date selfie?

There was one from the Selfie Day thread I think.

@coliver I know, we just need multiple pictures just to verify how bad that works

Looking at your post over at the selfie thread, well, the result couldn't be any better if you use a machete for example

Another one on my list of words I really don't want to know
Actually there's a special term for injuries that are "happening" with vacuum cleaners: Morbus Kobold. You will need Google Translator, but it's worth the time Basically, Kobold means leprechaun in English, the Kobold was a famous model from the German vac cleaner manufacturer Vorwerk - it was named after this very model.

People actually like Shark Week? I'm not being sarcastic, I've never, ever seen the appeal, and I've watched every Bob Brier documentary and lecture so I know drab and dull.
