Flights to Rochester for MangoCon 2016

I'm originally from Buffalo and I noticed right away that the home opener is that Thursday and only an hour away. Not sure if I can swing it but it would be hard to miss that game being only an hour away.

Oh yes, should still be quite warm in Upstate NY.

@scottalanmiller Indy is the weekend before I think

This is so why I will not use Amtrak anywhere outside the east coast. There is a single train available out of Chicago going to Rochester. This was the ONLY choice.
-
 Only four days, not bad.

@scottalanmiller said in Flights to Rochester for MangoCon 2016: Only four days, not bad. That is overnight trains. so only sort of 4 days. I can drive in under 10. It will cost more, but at least I have more choice on departure times. Cost would be 6 (likely 5 in reality) tanks (9 gallons) of gas for $151 assuming $2.80 per gallon.

I've done Rochester to the Chicago city limit in 10 hours straight in the car. It's long, but not horrible.

And it was winter (not snowy, just winter.)

Took the kids to Niagara Falls a few years ago, but we stopped overnight someplace between Cleveland and Buffalo.

Trying to see if I can come. @scottalanmiller knows I'm from Batavia, NY which sits smack in the middle of Buffalo and Rochester and this would be a PERFECT reason to stop by my home town. Unfortunately, there are two other HPE events that same week, both of which have requested my presence. Me sad. Maybe I should see if the Bills are playing - that could push me over the edge to skip the HPE events! If there are enough of you that want to go we can tailor things around you
-
If I watch the game, I'll watch from a bar.

There is a really nice Sports Bar right around the corner from the hotel. http://www.legendsrochester.com/ They have great food too.
