No Jet Blue from Atlanta.... United and American are the only 2 options. Now to decide where I have to change planes, because it must be a requirement that my check bag get lost on this trip... never once have I changed planes and not had my bag lost for a day or 2.
wow,.. bad luck. I've had airlines lose my bag twice, and it was on the return flight so it wasn't that big of a deal.
They always find it, but it's a hassle. Non stop flights are easy peasy in that regard. Bag stays on the plane I'm on.
I had bags lost between Istanbul and Athens recently that caused me to miss a flight to Crete. What a mess.

I hate Atlanta airport. It is an absolute nightmare.
One of my least favourite airports. Although if you are not flying Delta it isn't as bad.
-
NEVER FLY DELTA!! EVER!

One of the only choices from here. Unless you like sitting on the ground for an hour or more, or changing panes multiple times.

Those sound like far better options than Delta. Last time I flew Delta they just left with us at the gate. They had probably overbooked and so just closed the doors and left even though we had come from a connecting flight and were on time. I avoid them like the plague. Worst airlines I've ever dealt with. They may love to fly, but they hate passengers.

I've flown Delta 90% of the times I've flown, never had any issues. United, American, on the other hand.... like the airborne equivalent of a rusty 1981 corolla.

I have flown with Delta 4 times now. 4 times they have either just plain cancelled my flight (no refund just a flight reschedule days later) or stranded me in an airport for HOURS because they have over booked a terminal.
I will NEVER fly with them again.

Maybe they only pull that shit in other cities. They own most of the ATL airport and a large chunk of the city, so they tend to behave here. Or I've been really lucky.

Delta also is the only airline that has a non stop flight to Rochester from here, and I'm not about having to change planes in some shit airport like Newark (where I have to haul ass and pray I make the next flight or I'm stuck for 3+ hours) for the same price as a non stop flight.

I've ONLY had them do that to me (and lots of other people) in Atlanta.

Flying sucks, period. I've been in one airport that didn't send me into a near murderous rage... Des Moines. It's tiny, and the people are nice (even the TSA).
-
It was actually Delta going ATL to Albany that left several of us at the gate.
-
I normally fly Southwest... but the SW flights were going to be a 12 hour day of traveling.
-
Trying to figure out my flight from here to SW, I hate looking for flights. Oh yeah @Dominica where are you when I need you?
-
I like LaGuardia airport. Melbourne (FL) is nice too because it is small.
-
It's 375 from Omaha to Rochester - I could save a few bucks by flying out of KC, but not worth it to me.

Hey everybody! I'm a little late to the party, but here to help and give advice on travel stuff, if you need it.
Tip #1: Check Farecompare.com to see good options out of your local airports, keeping in mind that you may have to do a few searches to check prices to Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester. Talk to me if you're having any trouble with it, I use it ALL THE TIME.
#2. Search the Jetblue and Southwest websites directly.
#3. Learn to pack carry-on only. You will be so very happy that you did! You can easily pack for a conference in a carry-on bag, especially a casual one like MangoCon.Tag me if you've got questions

Here are a couple of links to help you start thinking about packing light. MangoCon is casual, so keep that in mind when adapting these packing lists to suit your style.
