Wayward Pines - Anyone Watch It? (May Contain Spoilers)
-
Like Scott, never heard of it.
-
Is that the show that was reputed to be a little like Twin Peaks?
-
Essentially the show takes place some ~2000 years from today, where we has humans destroyed the environment. One man saw this happening and built an enclosure for the remaining humans.
Outside of the enclosure there are these beast that go around and eat people (think a cross between a werewolf and a vampire).
How they add people to the population is they use cryogenic freezers to keep people alive, but asleep. And as they need a doctor or an IT person or an army person they defrost them.
It's an oddly stupid show. I watched last nights episode and decided I won't be watching it again.
-
I watched the first season and loved it. Less than impressed by the second season.
-
It can't be worse than Under the Dome. Somehow my wifey made me watch that whole series which just got more and more bizarre as it went on.
-
I'm quite out of touch, I don't know any of these, lol.

That's sad, it was an excellent Stephen King novel.

Did you watch Under the Dome? I thought it was terrible.

I saw the first episode and didn't think I needed to watch any more of it.

It actually got worse, the last season was really bad they were stretching the hell out of each show. The characters were all unrelateable .

Did you see Season 1? Go back and watch it and just be good with a contained series in one season. That's how I felt about Heroes...season 1 was great and good by itself.

I'm gonna trust that the writers have something up their sleeves but Season 2 has been very awkward to say the least, especially with key characters dying with no resonance.

I had similar experience with Revolution.
The lead in sounded interesting and I have always loved the post apocalyptic genre in general.
There was weird science (how does a generator just kick on after 15 years because the thing suppressing electricity switched off?) that jarred me out of my suspension of disbelief, and then once they revealed the cause, I was completely turned off because of the complete lack of science. The scene in the last episode of Season 1 with things lighting up, was just so completely stupid it hurt.
The actors were decent. The writing, outside of the science, was not horrible for the genre. But damnit, if you are going to write a post apocalyptic series with technological causes suppressing electricity, you should get the damn basic physics of electricity right.

I know that my wife watched an episode or two. But that's all that I know.

Remind me to binge it on Netflix at some point? I had not heard of it.
-
Overall, Wayward Pines is worth a watch for its first season. It is very mysterious if you don't get spoiled...but once the "reveal" is out, it is more or less over...

Yep.. what the wife and I are doing, when we have time.
did the same with Person's of Interest.4 seasons on Netflix, and the last season is on TV now..

I like the 100... I just can't get over how clean everyone is all the time.
