Looks like a bad day for anyone who uses their service.
-
@Nic Damn.

It looks like they are saying they were not hacked: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/company/press/statement-on-potential-teamviewer-hackers/

That seems to be in conflict with what a lot of people are reporting on /r/sysadmin

Surely they wouldn't mislead their customers to protect their own interests though?

@RamblingBiped might be that they don't have all the info yet - who knows?

This will be interesting to watch.....

I was also being somewhat sarcastic... I also think the link I posted might be dated (May 23rd) and referencing a different incident.
I'm glad I don't use their product...

Ah, missed your sarcasm - you should have used the /s tag

I haven't used them in a bit,.. but I do have it installed on a system or two. I'll have to keep watch on this...
ETA: My hope system is generally off at night,.. But It is now uninstalled.

“I was using a strong password that was unique to TeamViewer and they still got in and cleaned out my bank account. They logged in and used ChromePass to see my passwords stored in Chrome.” says ShatteredAutumn, a Reddit user.

This is why I generally do not store any password for any site in my browser. I feel that even it' is not safe.

https://twitter.com/TheRegister/status/738093006574653440The interaction between the two is entertaining and disturbing... It's been over a half an hour and no response as to why they don't have an updated explanation to the compromised accounts and DNS redirection to China...

Have not heard but I bet that it did as the central system would be shared most likely.

I had 2 FA enabled, so I wonder if my account was compromised. If they gained access on TV end, it probably was, if there was a hack of course.

People are reporting being hacked even with 2FA on, which would tend to suggest that.

Supposedly wasn't hacked. was just reusing password people had else where that were already stolen.
-
LOL - the oldest trick, well.. you know.

I uninstalled Teamviewer from all my systems at home anyway. Their lack of adequate response doesn't necessarily instill faith...
