Our lab is officially moving to a Colocation America Data Center in Los Angeles California. @art_of_shred and I will be leaving the Western NY office on Sunday May 15th and working in North Carolina Monday-Tuesday then heading out on an epic road trip from Salisbury, NC to Los Angeles, CA. Keep an eye out for pics all along Route 66.

And you didn't invite me to go with you?!

On 13 hours one way car trip was enough....

I've gotten better since then, I promise! That was my first trip like that! ROFL I'm a seasoned vet now.

Remember, in two months I covered the eastern seaboard, went to the west coast, back to the east coast, and back to NY. All in two months....lol

@Minion-Queen would be cheaper to ship them?

And once you figure in shipping and insurance on some of these it would be a bit more than a road trip.

And not nearly as much fun!

@FATeknollogee We're super excited to be partnering with NTG for this Lab! We're providing some top notch data center space in our Quinby Building facility--a full-rack (42u) high density cabinet (10KVA), an IP range, and a 100 MB/s Dedicated GigE port, with 30TB bandwidth.

And, @Minion-Queen and @art_of_shred will be joined by our mascot Coly for their road trip, so they won't be totally alone. 🙂

@Minion-Queen On the road again! Just can't wait to get on the road again!

Are you and @art_of_shred going the southern route? There's an amazing BBQ place in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE in TexArkana that has the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had in my life.

@Minion-Queen has a list of things that won't kill her that is much shorter than the list of things that will...lol

That is awesome, Grand Canyon is totally worth the stop. I'm quite surprised how much I enjoyed the Grand Canyon on my visit last year. I'd like to go back sometime and do a rim to rim hike.

We have never gone this far west (well I have been to Vegas but that was an in and out trip). We hope to do lots of cool fun things on our trip.

@Minion-Queen You might consider a brief stop in Monument Valley as well, it is quite impressive. The four corners might be another quick stop too.

Hey, if you're going to LA anyways, stop by Los Gatos and see all the Pertino guys! @Josh , @CraigElliott , and the rest!

Almost no one is still there and Pertino is not a company any longer. They were bought by CradlePoint some time ago and I believe that their offices have moved and everyone that we knew there moved on quite some time ago.

Except Pertino is no more and it's replacement is junk

I worked through the night last night and we now have our massive VyOS router front end working at the lab. Everyone is working to bring up the big cluster today. Fingers crossed. Still some network blindness on the back end.

what are you using for hardware? What does this provide you that a Edge Router didn't? sure processing power?

SuperMicro with a quad core Xeon 64bit and 12GB of RAM with storage on hardware RAID 10 via LSI controller. 1U rackmount running the latest VyOS. We can easily push 40GigE on that baby.

This battlestation is fully operational!! We have the first seven nodes of lab power online now from California! Very excited for all of the cool, new projects that we will be doing shortly.
