Then they are probably in the wrong industry
I find one of the biggest issues in IT nowadays, although the same can be said of pretty much any industry, is that there are a lot of people who know just enough to be dangerous, but too few who actually can do good work beyond a helpdesk/L0/retail level.

It was mostly sarcasm, but the thinking part has me concerned. I know adults who don't have shoe laces because they don't know how / can't learn to tie them.

I wear flipflops orZems to work almost everyday. I can tie my shoes, I just see it as a negative impact on my time and productivity...

I usually lace my shoes in a way that I can just slip them on but they won't just fall off. It's nice.
I tie mine about once a week, lol.
